A genre is a type or category of fiction, such as thriller, or fantasy. Many authors write in only one category.

Books are arranged in alphabetical order from left to right according to the author's surname. This means that all the books by the same authors are together.

However this means that not all types of stories are together, for example if you like books on horror, or on fantasy, or perhaps humour, you will have to look for each under the author's surname

Perhaps you read novels from only 1 or 2 genres. If you have a favourite author you may have read everything they have written and they are not writing fast enough.
