Joe Craig again! Print
Described as novelist, screen-writer, song-writer and performer, the multi-talented face behind the Jimmy Coates thrillers made a wonderfully welcome return to our library. His books are full of action, unlikely twists and nail-biting suspense and true to form Joe Craig totally hooked his year 9 audience when he was able to include all their different plots into one complete story-line. Michael said 'I really wanted to know how he came up with the idea of all the powers that Jimmy Coates had. When I found out that he got his inspiration from 'The Bourne Legacy' I was amazed because I loved that film'

But best title of the day had to go to Leo who was named 'Mr Epicness' after his suggestion as to what a story should contain. 'A really fun visit and I will definitely enjoy reading his books' (Aneurin)

C.S.Lewis Day. Print

So what have drinking chocolate, Turkish Delight, a wardrobe and Belfast have in common? Yes that's it- C.S.Lewis author of the celebrated Chronicles of Narnia who was born on 29th November 1898 in Bellfast. In recognition of this great author, who is to be included in Poet's Corner in Westminster Abbey, the COPE students from the sixth form held a lunch-time event in the library for all of year 8. Competitions, readings, edible goodies and a ridiculous lion costume were the hall-marks of the day.
